WKMT Music Studio has now published a new series of articles on the blog. Thanks to Thomas Rickerby who wrote for all our students. In this case, our Guitar tutor in London has written a series of three articles in which he goes deeper into the concept of Music Production.
I had the pleasure of co-working with Thomas throughout our Grand Piano recording sessions at WKMT, he has been always very organised and all our Recording sessions carried out smoothly with perfect results. Thomas as our main Sound Engineer is very easy to work with, and our clients think the same. So now, based on his experience, he has brought this interesting topic to discuss.
In this first part of the series, Thomas explains briefly the idea of Music Production. Main characters of the history of Music production, as well as the principal music systems to work with and create music from the scratch, called DAW (Digital Audio Workstation): Cubase and Garage Band. Those are the systems he uses to create music for his own rock band. In the second part, he talks about MIDI and Audio, which are the main systems used. In this last chapter, you will learn the difference between both, and the main uses.
